Cajun Crab Dip Recipe



GREAT CAJUN CRAB DIP RECIPE IDEAS

INGREDIENTS

1 lb. (500g) lump or backfin crabmeat drain and pick over for cartilage

1 cup mayonnaise home made or use your favourite brand

1 1/2 cups grated Cheddar cheese

1 1/2 teaspoon Old Bay Seasoning

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

1/4 teaspoon dry mustard I prefer the French style but it’s your choice

METHOD

Step One Blend the mayonnaise, 3/4 cup of the cheddar cheese, 1 1/2 teaspoons of Old Bay Seasoning, Worcestershire sauce and the dry mustard powder.

Step Two Carefully fold in the crabmeat and mix well until evenly distributed.

Step Three You can either put the mixture into a large casserole dish or several ramekins (6-8) which I prefer to use. Top the mixture with the remaining cheese.

Step Four Sprinkle a little Old Bay Seasoning over the cheese.

Step Five Bake them at 350° for 15 minutes, and when done they will start to bubble around edges.

Step Six Serve with fresh baguette or crackers.

ANOTHER CAJUN CRAB DIP RECIPE

INGREDIENTS

3 cans white crab meat or any crab meat you can get

16 oz sour cream

2 envelopes Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing Mix

1 pint mayonnaise home made is best but Hellmans works fine

3 teaspoon lemon juice I also use lime juice

Tabasco or any Louisiana Hot Sauce make it as hot as you like but don’t mask the taste

3 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce

Salt and black pepper season to taste

1 teaspoon fresh dill weed or alternatively fresh cilantro

METHOD

Step One Mix all the ingredients together, either by hand or blender

Step Two Put in frig and chill, and best made 12-24 hours ahead so as to allow the flavors to develop

ANOTHER CAJUN CRAB DIP RECIPE

INGREDIENTS

3 cans (6 oz size) crabmeat drained and chopped

6 green onions finely chopped

1 large red pepper finely diced

1/2 tablespoon butter

1 can tomatoes drained

Garlic powder to taste

Tabasco Sauce to suit your own taste

1 pound soft processed cheese and this to be cut into chunks

2 cups Monterey Jack cheese

fresh ground black pepper and sea salt season to taste

METHOD

Step One Gently saute the onions and pepper in butter

Step Two Place in a crock-pot slow cooker along with the tomatoes, seasoning and cheese.

Step Three Cook on a high setting until the cheese is melted

Step Four Add in the crab meat and cook on low for approximately 60 minutes.

Step Five Serve with tortilla chips or toasted garlic bread squares.
