Baked Crab Dip
GREAT BAKED CRAB DIP RECIPE IDEAS
1 lb. (550g) Crab meat cleaned and picked over for shell and cartilage
2 tablespoons onion minced
2 tablespoons chilli sauce sweet chilli or something stronger
8 oz. cream cheese softened at room temperature
2/3 cup mayonnaise use your favourite such as Hellmans
Step One Blend all the ingredients together in a blender except the crab meat
Step Two Place the mixture in a bowl and gently mix in the crab meat
Step Three Put the crab dip mixture into greased casserole dish or ramekins
Step Four Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes

12 oz crabmeat use fresh or canned and drain and flake and pick over for shell and cartilage. If you have a tight budget use imitation crab sticks
cream cheese softened at room temperature
2 cups sour cream
2 cups cheddar cheese shredded
4 green onionsthinly sliced
2 large round loaves unsliced sourdough or Italian bread
Step One Beat the cream cheese until it is smooth.
Step Two Add in the sour cream and mix well.
Step Three Gently fold in the crab meat, cheese and onions
Step Four Cut the top third off each loaf of bread. Then hollow out bottoms, so you are left with 1 inch thick shells. Remove the bread carefully without too much damage
Step Five Make cubes out of the bread you removed along with the tops.
Step Six Spoon your crab mixture into the bread bowls.
Step Seven Place the bowls on a greased baking sheets.
Step Eight Place the cubes of bread in a single layer around each bread bowl.
Step Nine Bake the bowls uncovered at 350 degrees F for 45-50 minutes, until the crab dip is heated through
Step Ten Garnish the tops with some sliced green onions and then serve with toasted bread cubes and crackers.
