INGREDIENTS To make 8 servings

1 lb. crab meat flaked and picked over

1 egg beaten lightly

Soft bread crumbs

1/2 cup butter melted

1 tablespoon lemon juice squeeze it fresh, use lime as an alternative

Black Pepper fresh ground to taste


Step One Put the crab meat, beaten egg, butter, lemon juice, black pepper in a large bowl and mix well so that all ingredients are well combined.

Step Two Add in bread crumbs sufficient to shape the crab mixture into small crab cakes.

Step Three Form the crab cakes and use additional crumbs as required.

Step Four Place the crab cakes on a baking sheet and then bake in a preheated oven at 400 degrees for around 20 minutes until they have a golden colour.

Step Five Turn the crab cakes over once during the baking.


INGREDIENTS Serves 8 people with this Baked Crab Cake Recipe.

1 1/2 cup crab meat flaked and picked over

1 cup saltine crackers crushed

3 large eggs with the yolk separated

1/4 cup butter melted

2 teaspoons lemon juice use fresh lemons

1 teaspoon green bell pepper minced

1 teaspoon celery minced


Step One Preheat your oven to 375 F. This recipe requires the use of greased small custard cups. Grease them and set aside ready.

Step Two Beat the egg yolks in a mixing bowl.

Step Three Add in the crab meat, crushed crackers, melted butter, fresh lemon juice, and the minced bell pepper and celery. Fold in all thje ingredients and mix well.

Step Four Beat the egg whites in another bowl until they are stiff. Use an electric mixer on the medium-high speed setting.

Step Five Gently fold the egg whites into the crab mixture.

Step Six Spoon the crab mixture into the greased custard cups.

Step Seven Fill a baking pan with hot water, place the custard cups in the pan and then bake for 25 minutes or until the mixture is set.
